Dr. Yan is Deputy Director of CICB. She is also Co-Investigator on Project 2. She has been working along side Dr. Huang in developing the Differential Methylation Hybridization (DMH) protocol since its inception seven years ago. She has been instrumental in developing this platform, first on an in-house custom microarray basis, and later as the current 44K custom oligonucleotide-based promoter CGI microarray. She has determined the methylation profile on many tumor types including breast, ovarian, glioma, and colorectal cancer. Much of her research has been done in collaboration with laboratories in the U.S. and overseas.
